Why hasn’t Shuvee Etrata said yes to Anthony Constantino?

On Friday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Shuvee called rumors that said Anthony is already her boyfriend as “fake news.”

Shuvee currently rates Anthony at 7.5 out of 10, a slight increase from her previous score of 7. According to Shuvee, the 0.5 jump was from a major effort by Anthony.

“Kasi pumunta sa Polomolok, nanligaw sa parents ko doon,” she said. “Nagluto, pinaluto siya ng tatay ko, inalagaan niya ‘yung mga kapatid ko. Lahat ng pamilya ko, extended family, kinilala niya. Tinignan niya ‘yung buhay ko doon.”

[Because he went to Polomolok and courted my parents there. He cooked — my dad had him cook — and he took care of my siblings. He met my family, my extended family. He saw what my life there was like.]

Shuvee said that Anthony truly witnessed the reality of her life in Mindanao, observing that they were genuinely poor and had a large family.

Despite the delay in making their relationship official, Shuvee holds Anthony in high regard, describing him as a great and kind guy, also attesting that he is someone who could make it even without her.

“Once you talk to him, he’s full of knowledge,” she said. “He’s actually so emotionally intelligent.”

When asked about his love language, Shuvee confirmed that it is acts of service and noted his impressive consistency.

She appreciates that Anthony embraced a traditional, very Filipino way of courting her, as she was straightforward about her expectations: “Uy, dalagang Pilipina [ako]. Maniligaw ka talaga ha. Wala tayo sa US.”

“You can actually see it in his efforts talaga na sobra siyang nag-go go beyond of his way para manligaw. And, nakikita ko ‘yun. Sobra nagagalingan ako sa kanya kasi for someone hindi laking Pinoy, hindi siya lumaki dito, pero, nakapag-research din pala siya. Nagagawa niya po yung ligaw na very Filipino talaga,” she said.

Anthony also appears to be the answer to Shuvee’s specific prayers for a partner.

She admitted that she had written down the qualities she desired: someone physically tall, moreno, with brown eyes. More importantly, she sought a Christian who is God-fearing and God-loving.

“I wanted a Christian. Someone who will respect my purity. Someone who will respect me for my values and principles. Me being a breadwinner. Sinulat ko po talaga, soft-spoken, consistent, confident with his own self. Gusto ko ‘yung hindi insecure na lalaki. Gusto ko ‘yung confident,” she said.

While she desired someone who respected her purity, Shuvee noted that she does not “judge people based on their body counts” or “their past experiences that made them who they are.”

Her core requirement remains a partner who is a Christian.

The primary reason Anthony has not yet become her boyfriend rests entirely on Shuvee’s priorities.

“Anthony naman knows na may priority talaga sa my family. And I actually asked him, ‘Bakit mo ako hindi pine-pressure or bakit hindi mo ako tinatanong pa?’ Kasi ang tingin ng lahat kami na,” she said.

Anthony answered, “I respect your priorities now. For sure, family mo talaga ‘yung nasa isip mo.”

Shuvee and Anthony are set to star in their first horror film together, “Huwag Kang Titingin.”

Shuvee was among the 20 housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.”

During the concert, Shuvee gave a shoutout to Anthony, once again saying that he is her TDH—tall, dark, and handsome.

Anthony was one of the people who welcomed Shuvee back to the outside world after she and Klarisse de Guzman were evicted from Bahay ni Kuya.
